How industry collaboration strengthens building safety, innovation, and code compliance.

No single company builds a safer industry alone.

Building safety is strengthened when manufacturers, engineers, architects, consultants, researchers, and code officials work together to solve challenges, share knowledge, and improve the performance of the built environment.

Organizations like the North American Modern Building Alliance (NAMBA) help bring these professionals together to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging challenges, and advance building safety through education, research, and technical collaboration.

Why Industry Collaboration Matters

Today's building projects require a broad understanding of product performance, engineering, and building code requirements.

Industry organizations create opportunities for professionals across multiple disciplines to:

  • Share technical expertise and best practices
  • Discuss evolving building codes and standards
  • Support innovation in modern building systems
  • Encourage collaboration between manufacturers and industry professionals
  • Improve the overall safety and performance of the built environment

These conversations help ensure that innovation and safety continue to move forward together.

PAC's Perspective

At Priest & Associates Consulting, collaboration allows us to better understand emerging technologies, evolving code requirements, and the real-world challenges our clients face, ultimately helping us provide more informed technical guidance.

Our work extends beyond a single discipline. Whether assisting with fire testing, engineering evaluations, product compliance, code compliance, or building safety consulting, our goal is to help manufacturers successfully navigate the path from product development to market acceptance.

Being actively involved in organizations like NAMBA allows our team to stay engaged with the latest industry discussions while exchanging ideas with professionals who share a commitment to safer, higher-performing buildings.

Looking Ahead

This September, Mike Luna, President and Principal Partner of Priest & Associates Consulting, will participate as a panelist at the 2026 NAMBA Building Fire Safety Symposium in Chicago.

The panel will explore NFPA 285 testing, test-program development, engineering judgments, and third-party certification. Drawing on nearly 30 years of experience in building-product testing, certification, and engineering consulting, Mike will discuss how engineering evaluations help bridge the gap between tested wall assemblies and project-specific construction, and when proposed variations require additional testing.
